I have been telling Katie for awhile now that I wanted to figure out a way to incorporate more video into lifestyle shoots, specifically with family photo shoots. Katie always does such an amazing job at capturing the moment with photos and I was curious if I could do the same except with video. To everyone reading, I think, possibly, we are on the right track to making that happen. Recently we shot family photos with our cousins and while there I decided to put some of my ideas into practice. Shake Your Whale Feather | Cincinnati, Ohio Family Session

When you get three family units together the “dad jokes” are sure to fly. During this shoot a stuffed whale made multiple appearances as a way to distract, interact, and just made for a super good time with the kids. During a down moment between photos some of the kids decided to dance around and it was in that moment from behind us the dad joke flew, and around the world it was heard, “shake your whale feather.” There is something profound to that, we should all take a moment to shake our whale feathers this week.
