Theres Nothing like Love and Vinyl. Courtney + Zach.
My favorite thing to do is ask couples where some of their favorite spots to be their full authentic selves are together. My philosophy behind this is that people do not spend a lot of time in front of a camera, and on top of that, especially with someone who you don’t really know is holding that camera. Someone is more likely to feel comfortable in a place that makes them feel good. We first met up with Courtney and Zach to grab a beer and chat about their wedding. It was a bonus that they brought their dog Bowie with them. He sat under the table the whole time which was good because I got to sneak all the pets I wanted to while we chatted and got to know each other. For everyone reading this that don’t know us, we love to meet up for coffee or for a beer and get to know you! It’s one of our favorite parts that we get to spend time with you one on one before your wedding. That way when it comes to your wedding day, it feels more like your friends are coming to photograph your wedding and celebrate with you.
When I asked Courtney and Zach about some of their favorite places, they agreed on Shake It Records . Courtney told me some of their first dates were going to the record store and playing Uno at Blue Jay Restaurant in Northside, Cincinnati. I was like, BOOM SOLD! And that’s what we did. I also wanted to include Bowie in their photos and so we started at their house with Bowie and grabbed some photos there. You best know that I hung out with Bowie for a bit too! If you don’t know me by now ( Katie speaking) I love all pets. Please include them in your sessions with us. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Sadly, Blue Jay was closed, so we headed to Collective Espresso. The one in Northside is my favorite because it feels like you are in a little greenhouse and it is tucked in a little pocket. Like a hidden gem. Well, I am sure you have had enough of my rambling. We had a blast during their engagement session and we can not wait for their wedding in the Fall!
