Bird And Rose Go To Disney World And Universal Studios Orlando | Our Honeymoon Adventure!
Well we are married now. Like, the two wedding photographers themselves are now wed in holy matrimony. Leading up to the ceremony and even now we are asked where we went on our honeymoon. Our initial plan was to take a two week road trip across America, which we are still planning on doing next year when the weather is a bit more cooperative nation wide, but until then we decided on a smaller trip to Florida to see one of our favorite theme parks again Universal Studios Orlando, and then hop over to spend a few days at Disney.
We do want to add here that originally we were supposed to be staying in an AirBnB but upon arriving we found the place to not be at all what was advertised. We got on the phone and contacted AirBnB and they did a pretty decent job at getting us out of there with a partial refund. We would also like to say that Liz one of the co-hosts of the property did a nice job at trying to fix everything but we were so tired and ready to relax that we just wanted out and she understood. On a whim Shay got on the phone with Disney and made a call to see if they had any extra rooms anywhere, and as luck would have it they had a room available at the Coronado Springs Resort. Not only was this a major upgrade from our original plan, but now we had extra magic hours in the park! Thank you Disney!
As most of you know Katie is the major Harry Potter fan so stopping by to see some of her favorites in Universal’s Wizarding World Of Harry Potter was a must. This park is absolutely insanity in movie accuracy. The creators were SPOT ON when it comes to Diagon Alley and Hog’s Mead. It looks like you are walking directly into the story. Yes, we know we are 30 years old, but if you are a fan and have not had the time to make the trip, we highly recommend it.
Shay on the other hand is a Star Wars fanatic, that mixed with Katie never having been to Disney World it only made sense to stop in and see it all. We landed two park hopper passes (how that happened is an entirely other story, and those responsible for helping make that happen know who you are and we are literally forever thankful) and made our trek first thing in the morning to see what Disney had done with Star Wars in their Star War’s Galaxy Edge attraction located in Hollywood Studios.. Shay mayyyyy or may not have cried a bit when seeing the Millennium Falcon, a life sized Millennium Falcon right there, in front of him. Not only is there a life sized version of the Falcon there is also life sized versions of an X-Wing, an A-Wing, storm troopers walking around and more.
After our stop in Star War’s Galaxy Edge we made our way around to the other parks, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Magic Kingdom, with Katie boldly exclaiming that Magical Kingdom is her favorite park out of them all. This does make sense with how nostalgic the whole experience is especially walking down Main Street at night seeing all the lights. As one added bonus we stayed late for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party it that blew our socks off. One thing to note. If you are going to Universal and/or Disney make sure to book fast passes. These things are worth the time and money as you can almost literally walk onto any ride.
Suffice it to say our honeymoon was perfect. We both cried a little and pretended to be kids again for an entire week, which we both suggest to anyone who might be feeling burnt out or tired. Now please enjoy this clip of Katie on a roller coaster.
