Our Wedding
We thought we would take a break today on the blog and show you another side of us. We feel that it is important to share with our community who we are and what we are about. Our goal is to build relationships with the people we spend time photographing. This makes your experience with us more personal. Our original plan for our wedding was to run off to Portland Oregon with our parents and siblings and get married in the woods. This was our dream and as life has it, things change.
I wanted to say this piece in this blog, because I always talk about the wedding industry and how there is a big movement in the last few years. That movement is that there are zero rules into how your day needs to look. If you want to drive to fly to another place and just share those moments between the two of you or if you want to have a big wedding, the choice is yours and yours only. No one can tell you different and your choice is the correct choice for you.
Since we weren’t able to go to Portland for our wedding, I told Shay that I wanted our wedding to have a west coast feel. For months leading up to our wedding, we gathered personal pieces and built triangles to represent mountains to decorate our tables, picked our friends to be vendors, custom built a playlist for each part of our event, and surrounded ourselves with the people that we love the most. Today, I wanted to share our wedding video that was shot by our friends Hunter and Light! They did an amazing job documenting our day and also danced with us on the dance floor, which was an added bonus.
